His arms held you with every inch of his life. Desperation clouded his judgement.

While you… you just seemed so calm. As if the idea of death didn’t scare you. And in a lot of ways, it didn’t. It never had. Dying was apart of life, it happened to some sooner than others. And this death, one that had been your choice, in your hands, was one you were willing to die to.

You hadn’t known Thor for that long. Not as long as the friends that surrounded the both of you, watching in silent shock as your body writhed in his arms. But, you’d known him long enough. Long enough, that was, to fall in love with him.

You raised your hand shakily, feeling your strength dissipating by the moment. Cupping his cheek, you wiped away the stray tear that had fallen down Thor’s cheeks. You smiled, though weakly, and coughed, before trying to speak. “There’s no need to shed tears for me, Odinson.” You whispered, voice cracking. “I am not worth your tears.”

Thor shook his head, and he was about to say something before you fell into a fit of coughs. Your body shook and writhed, weakening by the second. Blood came out, falling across your lips as you tried to gather your bearings, to gather yourself once again. Your eyes fell to the knife sticking out of your chest in the midst of your fit, bloodshot eyes softening with worry at the sight of it.

Determination flooded Thor, then.

“You saved my life,” Thor whispered, leaning towards you. “Let me save yours.”

Instantly, you knew of what he meant. “No,” you shook your head, not hesitating one second. “No, Thor-”

“Y/N,” Thor interrupted, voice so sure that it almost had you convinced. “I know you can do it. So do it. Bound my soul with yours, and let me save you.”

“Why?” You questioned, shaking your head. You tried to push yourself up, but your weakened arms only gave out from beneath you. You let you a groan, handing falling to your stomach. “Why would you willingly risk your life for me?”

Thor paused at that, the edges of his lips twitching upwards in a sad smile. “Why would you?”

Your lips parted, knowing that Thor had gotten you there. Shaking your head, you tried to focus on keeping your eyes open. “That’s ridiculous, Thor. You’re meant to be the King of Asgard. I am simply a witch. Your life is worth more than mine.”

“Not to me.”

You sighed, shaking your head. Thor’s hand fell on your cheek in that moment, pulling your gaze back on your own. “Please,” he whispered, “please…”

You didn’t want to. Hell, the only reason you were in this situation was because you wanted to save Thor’s life. But you knew, by the look in his eyes, there was no convincing him otherwise.

“Thor-”

“I need to do it, Y/N.” Thor continued, wiping his thumb across your cheek. “I love you.”

You sighed, shaking your head. Biting your lip, you shifted forward, a whimper leaving your lips as you did so, and grabbed Thor’s hand from your face. You hated the way he seemingly relaxed the moment he realized what you were doing. How could he be so nonchalant about sacrificing himself for you?

Just like you had.

Closing your eyes, you pushed all your energy into Thor’s. It took a moment, but as soon as you opened your eyes, and met Thor’s, the pain, the agony you’d felt disappeared. Now, Thor felt it.

I secretly want Steve to go on Dancing With the Stars and Tony to go on a celebrity Chopped episode.

#since I’m of the headcanon that Tony can actually cook quite well (via @blossomsinthemist)

Me too! I honestly headcanon him as an incredible cook and he has recipe books that he keeps at home for when he wants to experiment. I also like to think that he got his love for cooking from his mother and she was the one who taught him how to make some of his favourite dishes. So I can imagine him making one of those dishes on the show in memory of Maria and he makes it so perfectly like he always does.

Now the question is: Does my boy Steven know how to dance or is he going into this BLIND?

Yessss YES omg. Tony making a dish in honor of Maria? God, yes, I need it. (And he mentions Jarvis teaching him to cook, too, and how he always used to feel safe in the kitchen with Jarvis and then he started helping him in the kitchen … .)

Honestly, I can’t decide whether Steve should be able to dance or not. Either he’s going into it totally blind, or he did learn at some point. Because either one would just be fantastic? I suppose I’d say MCU Steve maybe still doesn’t know, and 616 Steve would definitely know how? Or: it’s up to you, whichever you prefer. Since I can’t decide myself.

Oh my goodness, YES. Him feeling so safe in the kitchen with Jarvis and Jarvis being there to continue teaching him how to cook when Maria passed. I kind of see Tony also using cooking as a coping mechanism and it brings him such peace. So imagine how he feels when Jarvis passes away too…

I love the idea of Steve being a complete newbie and having to learn the steps from his dance partner. (QUICK AU IDEA WHERE STEVE GOES ON DANCING WITH THE STARS AND TONY IS HIS TALENTED AND PROFESSIONAL DANCE PARTNER). But a part of me really wants him to surprise the crowd with the fact that OH SHIT Captain America can actually dance and he dances so well?? Either one is honestly 10/10, would read again and again.

Yes, exactly? Exactly. I also see Tony using cooking as a way to calm down, relax, get out of his head and deal with things, and see it bringing him peace. So right? Cooking with Jarvis helped him deal with Maria’s death, and then … . It would be emotional for him. (And now he cooks for Steve sometimes, and the team on and off, occasionally, too.)

See, that’s the thing? They’re both so good. I love the idea of Steve being a complete newbie (AND HEY THAT AU IDEA IS GREAT? GOLD?). But the other part of me wants him to just stun the crowd with the fact that Captain America can dance and does so amazingly well. SO YEAH?

I just watched infinity war and I relate to this extremely
